In Today’s Stock Market, Nifty crosses 24,100, Sensex rises 330 points; IT and metal stocks gain, FMCG weighs on markets.

On August 28, Sensex gained 330.92 points to reach 77,264.51, while the Nifty climbed 84.80 points to 24,175.65. Market breadth remained positive, with around 2,300 shares advancing, 1,840 declining, and 183 remaining unchanged.

Top Nifty gainers : TCS, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies
Top Nifty Losers:  Asian Paints, Shriram Finance, ITC, ICICI Bank and UltraTech Cement.

Mixed trend seen on the sectoral front, with IT index rose 3.5%, pharma, metal, media indices up 0.4% each. On the other hand, consumer durable, FMCG down 0.4% each.

The Nifty midcap and smallcap indices ended with little change.

Stock Prediction for 31st August 2026

Prediction for Monday NIFTY can go up if it goes above 24,200 or down after the level of 24,000, but it also depends upon the Global cues.

Nifty is currently trading around 24,175, with the key resistance zone placed between 24,100 and 24,500. On the downside, the index has immediate support in the 24,000–23,500 range. A sustained move above 24,500 could indicate further strength, while a break below 24,000 may put additional pressure on the index.

Bank Nifty is currently trading around 57,496. The immediate resistance zone is placed at 57,500–58,000, while the key support zone lies between 57,300–56,500. A sustained move above 58,000 could strengthen the bullish momentum, while a break below 57,300 may signal weakness and drag the index towards 56,500.
