On August 18,<\/strong> Sensex rose 676.09<\/strong> points to 81,273.75,<\/strong> while Nifty gained 251.20<\/strong> points to 24,882.50.<\/strong> Around 2,446<\/strong> shares advanced, 1,555 <\/strong>declined, and 160<\/strong> remained unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Nifty gainers: Maruti Suzuki, Nestle, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Auto<\/strong>
Top Nifty Losers : ITC, Tech Mahindra, Eternal, L&T, NTPC.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barring IT, media, and power, all sectors closed higher. Auto rose 4%<\/strong>, consumer durables 3%<\/strong>, realty 2%<\/strong>, while metal, FMCG, telecom, and private banks were up 1\u20132%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BSE Midcap<\/strong> index rose by 1%<\/strong>, while the Smallcap index<\/strong> gained 1.4%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benchmark indices made a strong recovery today, with the Nifty closing 251 points higher and the Sensex up by 696 points. Auto and Consumer stocks led the charge, gaining 4% and 3.3%, respectively. Despite the positive market sentiment, the IT index saw some intraday profit booking at higher levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technically, after a gap-up opening, the market faced selling pressure but managed to close above the 20-day SMA, signaling a positive outlook. For the short term, we maintain a positive view, advising day traders to follow a “buy on dips, sell on rallies” strategy. Key resistance is expected between 25,000 and 25,400, while support is seen around 24,800 to 24,400.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
