What is Threads app<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Threads is a messaging app developed by Mark Zuckerberg that seamlessly connects to your Instagram account. It allows users to communicate and share photos, videos, and messages with a close circle of friends. It focuses on facilitating private and intimate conversations between users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Meta Thread?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Instagram, owned by the tech giant Meta, has unveiled a new microblogging app \u2013 ‘Threads,’ designed to directly compete with Elon Musk’s Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch comes at a time when Twitter has limited the number of tweets one can read in a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The app \u2018Threads\u2019 is built by the Instagram team, for sharing text updates and joining public conversations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like Twitter, the Thread app features short text posts that users can like, re-post, and reply to, although it does not include any direct message capabilities. Posts can be up to 500 characters long and include links, photos and videos up to five minutes long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After logging in from your Instagram account, one can upload posts up to 500 characters long and include links, photos, and videos up to 5 minutes in length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new app is rolled out in 100 countries including India and is available on both iOS and Play Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thread users cannot use hashtags in their posts. Unlike Twitter where you base the whole trend around hashtags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One can also filter content on Thread. It has in-built tools that will help to control who can mention you or reply within Threads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can import all your Insta followers in Thread or start following new people.<\/p>\n\n\n

How to use the app Threads<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once your account is set up, you will be brought to your Threads feed where you can see posts from the people you follow, as well as random users you don’t follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look at the bottom of your screen and you will see a row of icons that can help you navigate the app. From left to right:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The house icon brings you to your feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magnifying glass icon takes you to a search page where you can type in the user names of people you wish to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pen-and-paper icon lets you create a new thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heart icon shows your account activity. It displays who followed you, who replied to your thread, who mentioned you in their posts, and which users are verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The human figure icon takes you to your Threads profile where you can see your activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can Threads replace Twitter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Threads is a new platform that could become a popular alternative to Twitter. It works in a similar way but tries to give users a better experience. It might attract people who want a more exciting and improved social media experience. However, we’re not sure if Threads will actually take over Twitter or not. It depends on how many people start using it, what features it offers, and if users are happy with it overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
