While there were gains in the metal stocks due to China&#8217;s announcement of providing policy support for its economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, the market experienced losses in ITC, an index heavyweight, following its demerger update. The metals index rose by 1.7%, and the auto index increased by 0.9%.
