The last weekly contract for the <strong>Nifty Bank <\/strong>will trade on<strong> November 13<\/strong>, while the <strong>Midcap index and Financial Services index<\/strong> will see their last contracts on <strong>November 18 and November 19, 2024, <\/strong>respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a note from <strong>July 31, IIFL Securities <\/strong>pointed out that the <strong>Nifty Bank<\/strong> accounts for <strong>50% of NSE <\/strong>option premium volumes and is the largest contract on the<strong> NSE<\/strong>. Its impact is noted at <strong>60%<\/strong> across three expiries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brokerage estimates that the net impact on NSE&#8217;s full-year volumes will be around<strong> 30% to 35%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a recent interview with CNBC-TV18, Rajesh Baheti from Crossseas Capital Services stated that choosing Nifty as the weekly product could result in a <strong>35% to 40%<\/strong> drop in <strong>NSE&#8217;s <\/strong>revenue, while opting for<strong> Nifty Bank<\/strong> could lead to a <strong>15% to 20%<\/strong> decline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But does this situation benefit NSE&#8217;s competitor, BSE?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BSE&#8217;s options tariffs are <strong>7%<\/strong> lower than those of<strong> NSE,<\/strong> potentially accelerating market share gains for<strong> BSE. <\/strong>Earlier this month,<strong> BSE <\/strong>announced it would discontinue weekly index derivatives contracts on the<strong> Sensex 50<\/strong> starting <strong>November 14<\/strong>, and on the <strong>Bankex <\/strong>from<strong> November 18, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BSE shares are currently trading <strong>1.7%<\/strong> higher at <strong>\u20b94,287,<\/strong> having reached an intraday high of <strong>\u20b94,350<\/strong>.
