On April 04, Sensex was down 930.67 points at 75,364.69, and the Nifty was down 345.65 points at 22,904.45. About 1081 shares advanced, -2721 shares declined, and 131 shares unchanged.
Top Nifty gainers: Power Grid Corp, Sun Pharma, UltraTech Cement, Cipla, Shriram Finance.
Top Nifty Losers: Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, Tata Motors, Cipla.
In sectoral performance, the Metal index sank 6.5%, while the Pharma index declined by 4%. The Realty index dropped 3.6%, and the Oil & Gas index fell nearly 4%. Meanwhile, indices for Auto, Consumer Durables, Power, PSU, Media, and IT registered losses between 2% and 3%.

After two days of subdued trading, Nifty breached its crucial support level of 22,800 during early trade and extended its losses, finally closing at 22,904.45. Most sectors came under pressure, with metals, pharma, and energy taking the biggest hit. Resistance is seen at 23,200-23,800, while support lies in the 22,800-22,500 range.
