In today’s stock market, Nifty drops below 22,500, and Sensex falls by 280 points, with mid and small-cap stocks leading the decline.

On March 10, The Sensex was down 217.41 points at 74,115.17, and the Nifty was down 92.20 points at 22,460.30. About 1,147 shares advanced, 2,776 shares declined, and 140 shares remained unchanged.
Top Nifty gainers: IndusInd Bank, Trent, ONGC, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto
Top Nifty Losers: Power Grid Corp, HUL, Infosys, SBI Life, Nestle India.
All sectors, except FMCG, ended in the red, with auto, consumer durables, metal, capital goods, oil & gas, realty, and PSU Bank declining by 1-2 percent.
BSE Midcap index was down 1.5 percent, and smallcap index was down 2.1 percent.

The market started strong, driven by heavyweights, which pushed the index higher. However, it struggled to maintain those gains and couldn’t break the resistance level of 22,620. In the second half of the session, a sharp drop in mid and small-cap stocks weighed on the index, causing it to close 92.20 points lower at 22,460.30. Resistance is expected between 22,600 and 23,000, while support lies around 22,400 to 22,000.

A fresh long position can be considered if Banknifty closes above the 48,755 level. Resistance is seen between 48,600 and 49,000, while support lies between 48,100 and 47,500.
