In Today’s Stock Market, Nifty dips below 24,250, Sensex down 180 pts. Metals and private banks outperform, while IT and infra weigh.

On August 25, Sensex was down 183.15 points at 77,472.94, and the Nifty was down 126.80 points at 24,207.75. About 2,263 shares advanced, 1,881 shares declined, and 173 shares remained unchanged.

Top Nifty gainers : Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement, Axis Bank, HDFC Life, JSW Steel
Top Nifty Losers: Infosys, Power Grid Corp, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra and Shriram Finance.

Among sectors, metal and private bank indices rose 1% each, and PSU Bank index added 0.7%. On the other hand, IT and Infra indices shed 1% each, auto, consumer durables, Energy, FMCG, oil & gas, realty down 0.5-0.9%

The Nifty midcap index ended marginally lower, while smallcap index rose 0.8 percent.

Prediction for Thursday NIFTY can go up if it goes above 24,300 or down after the level of 24,200, but it also depends upon the Global cues.

Nifty is currently trading around 24,200, with the 24,300–24,700 zone acting as a key resistance area. On the downside, 24,200–23,700 is an important support zone. Holding above 24,200 could keep the index stable and open the possibility of a move towards 24,300 and higher levels, while a break below 23,700 may bring further weakness and selling pressure.
