Stock Market Holiday List in 2024.

March has three Stock Market holidays, and April has two. No trading holidays in February and September, only weekends.

Non-Operating Stock Market Days.

In the year 2024, both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will observe 14 trading holidays, according to the announced holiday list.
Notably, March will have three trading holidays, while April will have two. It’s worth mentioning that there will be no trading holidays in February and September, except when they coincide with weekends.
This schedule provides market participants with a clear overview of the non-trading days throughout the year.
Below is the list of holidays during which the stock market will be closed in 2024.

The holiday dates, subject to change, will be notified through a separate circular in advance, as stated by the exchanges.

Holidays that fall on the Weekend.

In addition to the listed holidays, five weekends will be observed as non-trading days.

1. Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti – April 14 (Sunday)

2. Shri Mahavir Jayanti – April 21 (Sunday)

3. Ganesh Chaturthi – September 07 (Saturday)

4. Dussehra – October 12 (Saturday)

Diwali Muhurat trading date – When is it?

Every Deepawali, the stock market hosts a special one-hour trading session known as the ‘Muhurat trading’ session. The term ‘Muhurat’ signifies an auspicious time. This year, the Muhurat trading is scheduled for November 1, with timings to be disclosed by the exchange before the session.
